April 28, 2024

ITMS is part of the current special exhibition for the 70th anniversary of the German Weather service with a nice poster covering ICOS and ITMS. The exhibition currently continues in the Flugwerft Oberschelißheim near Munich.

And now to the weather: From 21 September, the Klimahaus Bremerhaven will present the work, tasks and development of the German Weather Service (DWD) to its visitors in a special exhibition. The exhibition "70 years between nature and society" was created by the DWD to mark the anniversary of the federal authority, which was founded in 1952. Following its premiere in the House of Representatives of the German Bundestag in Berlin, the multifaceted exhibition is now open to the general public for the first time. At seven analogue and digital stations, the exhibition shows how the national weather service is present in the daily lives of many people. The special exhibition provides an insight into the "inner workings" of a highly digitalised authority and its central importance for weather and climate in Germany. The DWD is Germany's official authority on all weather issues and provides the public and authorities with information on climate change in addition to current weather data and forecasts. A very important task of the DWD is to warn the population of dangerous weather situations. The central role of the DWD in measuring greenhouse gas emissions is shown in the joint poster by ITMS and ICOS.

Exhibition has started at Flugwerft Oberschleißheim
